Artist: A-Choired Taste of Gospel 'A-Choired Taste of Gospel' is a community choir from Bacchus Marsh. It was started 3 years ago by its musical director Val Munro, with an initial group of 6 keen singers and sponsorship from the local Baptist church. The choir loves singing music with African roots and its repertoire includes negro-spirituals, reggae and tribal songs, either accompanied or a-capella. They have performed in Bacchus Marsh, Gisborne, Keilor and since gaining a community arts grant to purchase a portable sound system, are visiting smaller communities in the area to spread their own brand of joy! They do a ‘tour’ of aged care facilities in Moorabool shire twice a year as well as holding concerts for the public to support local agencies such as the SES, CFA and Neighbours’ Place, a local food bank. In 2010 the choir, now with 20 members, is becoming busy with gigs at various functions. We recently provided entertainment for 2 different Cancer Council Fundraisers, and will be touring around the Moorabool Shire in July doing ‘warm-up’ gigs prior to their concert in August.
