WHO ARE WE?

Festival Director:

• Dr. Sue Gillett has been associated with Gorgeous Voices since its beginnings: she sang at the festival launch in 2002, became a Board member in 2004 and convened the Conference section of the Festival in 2006. Sue is a Senior Lecturer at La Trobe University, Bendigo where she teaches literature and film. As a long-time singer in community choirs and local groups Sue has a solid understanding of the aims of a Festival such as this, along with a strong commitment to its success.

Board Members:

• Rebecca Morton is a singer who has written, produced and managed her own shows, which have performed in various Melbourne venues and throughout regional Victoria. She is also a teacher and choir facilitator who is passionate about encouraging people to find their voice.

• Claire Nihill's expertise is in research and administration. She has worked as a research assistant as well as coordinating working in a support role with students with disabilities. She was recently awarded a Master of Arts in Literature.
  

• Carol Dore is undertaking a PhD in social work at La Trobe Bendigo campus.  Her topic is Connecting Through Song: The Lived Experience of Community Singing. 

• Rod Fyffe is a councillor with the City of Greater Bendigo. He is active in the community, sits on a number of audit committees, is a secondary teacher, and is an enthusiastic supporter of the arts in its many forms.

• Megan Richardson is an Executive Assistant to the Campus Director[s] at La Trobe Bendigo, and is studying her Social Work/Human Services degree at the Bendigo Campus. She is the conductor of the Gorgeous Voices Choir and maintains our website.

• Pam Lyons is Coordinator of the Able Learners' Enrichment Program with the Faculty of Education at La Trobe University. She is on the committee of the Maldon Folk Festival and has skills in administration, PR, copyright procedures, and website maintenance.
