WET WEATHER UPDATED VILLAGE VOICES PROGRAM (NO CHANGE TO MAIN PROGRAM OR CONCERT)
The best laid plans of mice and men go oft astray!
Oh well, we shouldn't complain about this life-giving rain should we. The reason Bendigo is looking so lovely this Spring is because of these blessings of abundant water from the heavenly clouds!
I have attached the updated wet weather plan for the Village Voices choirs.
Basically, we want to keep you and your listeners dry, so we have:
- swapped the Hargreaves Mall venue for the Vahlands Bistro (on the BRIT campus - very close to our main workshop venues)
- swapped the Chinese Gardens venue for The Good Loaf Bakery venue
Volunteer guides will escort Village Voices choirs to their venues and we'll have City of Bendigo maps to give out.
The first swap means that we'll get less passing parade, unfortunately but it's likely that people won't be out and about shopping in the rain anyway.
The BISTRO is delighted to be hosting you, and I'm grateful to them for being open to serve you coffees and cakes and other delectables throughout the whole day. I hope that the morning and afternoon choirs will provide audience for each other in this new venue.
The Good Loaf is a bit of a walk a good 15 mins so do bring your umbrellas and waterproof shoes! We have use of a community bus for the day, so we might be able to do a few bus-runs for those not so keen on walking.
Apart from being a good walk, The Good Loaf is Bendigo's newest and yummiest! - bakery. It has the biggest verandah in the world, so you'll be under cover, but still outside. The owners are VERY happy that it's raining because they really wanted to be a Village Voices venue.
I am imagining the Village Voices choirs literally singing in the rain as you make your way between venues and our roving photographer will be on the lookout for the the cheeriest under-umbrella singing!!!!
I will have copies of the wet weather program available at the registration desk in McGillivray Hall. In the meantime, you can print off the attached.
One more sleep and then we'll meet for a hearty big sing. I Hope lots of you will be in MCGILLIVRAY HALL by 9.30 for the not-to-be missed warm-up led by Carl and Penny (where you will also meet our esteemed gospel and soul workshop leaders, Phil and Geoffrey)
