GORGEOUS VOICES FESTIVAL

Artist: The Gorgeous Voices Choir (led by Carl Pannuzzo)

Began as a joint initiative between La Trobe University and the Gorgeous Voices Festival. In her dual role as Festival Director and song-writing academic, Sue Gillett saw the need for a campus choir that could also draw members from the broader community and serve as ambassadors for the bi-annual Festival. The aims of the Gorgeous Voices Choir are:

• to be gorgeous
• to have fun
• to sing to the best of our ability
• to stand for all that is gorgeous about singing, and about our Festival in Bendigo
• to bring pleasure to our listeners and build an audience
• to participate in workshops, concerts and in the massed choirs at the Gorgeous Voices Festival

In 2009 we were fortunate enough to find the perfect conductor to bring out the best in us, individually and collectively. Carl Pannuzzo is best known publicly for his performances with Totally Gourdgeous, Acapelicans, Checkerboard Lounge and JoJo smith. Having extensively nationally and internationally over the last 10 years, Carl developed a unique and accessible way of communicating music to singers.
